fun?

Become a volunteer!
As a charity, we rely on our supporters to help us achieve our aims. Here is your chance to join us in the heart of Bristol’s historic Harbourside, helping us to bring science to life!. There are lots of ways you can get involved, and you don’t necessarily need specialised skills or a science background. Whatever your particular talents, we want to hear from you.
Who can volunteer?
Most of our
volunteers will be over the age of 18. We ask for a regular commitment
of at least 8 hours per month, and because we want you to get the most
from your training and experience, arrangements of 6 months or more
are preferred.
We are at our busiest at the weekends and during the school holidays, so if you are supporting Visitor Services, these are the times when we most need your help. All volunteers are required to have a background check through the Criminal Records Bureau.
Visitor Services
If you thrive on variety and enjoy meeting people, Visitor Services offers opportunities for both! Providing vital support at peak times, you will take part in a wide range of activities, from welcoming visitors and explaining about our membership schemes to providing fun activities such as face-painting and badge-making.

Specialised skills
You may have specialised skills to share with us. From working in our laboratories to painting and decorating – whatever your area of expertise, we will try to find an opening where your talents can really make a difference.

Administrative support
We have openings for volunteers with administrative skills throughout the organisation and at all levels, from mailings to data in-putting and contact co-ordination.
