Beatbox versus the Mighty Jungulator

Four days of audio experimentation and creative composition DJ and VJ workshops.

Beatbox

This 2-day workshop in creative audio production kicked off with a series of DJ workshops using vinyl and Cd decks to mix and scratch and try beat-matching and mixing. Professional DJ's helped the participants work on their skills and try out new styles of mixing. Samples were made on classic old-skool beatbox rhythm and sound generators. Using Reason and Cool Edit sounds were mixed up and some great tracks produced in this two-day workshop.

The Mighty Jungulator

Multimedia professionals from the Socket collective demonstrated their latest software programme that mixes up audio and visual samples and adds effects and transitions to them. The session involved capturing audio samples, making loops and then feeding them into the computer. Using images and video that were based on the content of Wildwalk-At-Bristol the programme helps to mix audio and video simultaneously in a DJ / VJ extravaganza. Young people from around the city took advantage of these sessions to learn new skills in media producation.
