Fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing with
Explore-At-Bristol
Holiday events 21-24 March and 5-20 April 2008.
This Easter, fasten your seat belts and prepare for a
smooth landing with Explore-At-Bristol’s brand new exhibit, Landing
Gear.
Have you ever wondered just how a plane comes into land so smoothly after
travelling so high and so fast? Well, Landing Gear will give you
all the answers you need.
After travelling thousands of miles around the world, the landing gear of
a genuine Airbus A340, donated by Airbus & Messier-Dowty, has come to land
in Explore at Bristol and from this Easter, you can get your hands on it
and find out exactly what the tyres are filled with and why, discover how
the pilot controls the brakes and determine precisely what all the
complicated pieces of machinery really do.
Don’t forget all Explore’s other fun-filled holiday events. From
exhibitions to shows and meet the expert sessions, there’s something for
everyone to do. Why not try steeling your nerves for a penalty shoot out
in Lovesport, or delving right Inside DNA to discover
exactly how our amazing bodies work? You could even get stuck into some
fizzing, bubbling and exploding potions in the Fizz, whiz, bang
live science show.
