The Annexe

The Annexe adjoins the Rosalind Franklin room and is made up of three rooms:

  • James Watson
  • Maurice Wilkins
  • Francis Crick

With floor to ceiling glass walls, they are spacious and flooded with natural daylight, providing a great environment for smaller meetings and seminars.

For smaller events, these rooms can be hired separately, subject to availability.

Alternatively, the flexible Watson, Wilkins and Crick spaces can be opened up into one room for banquets and conferences. Each room adjoins the south facing terrace, overlooking Millennium Square, and is large enough to accommodate up to 70 people, theatre style.

These rooms are ideal for:

  • Meetings
  • Designated catering area
  • Delegate breakout rooms
  • Bar / networking lounge
  • Wedding or civil partnership ceremonies

The annexe

As a priority the Annexe is only available when booking the Rosalind Franklin room. Subject to availability, the Annexe rooms can be hired without the Rosalind Franklin room, separately as smaller meeting rooms or opened up into one space.

Did you know?

The rooms were named after the three men who won the Nobel prize for the discovery of the molecular structure of DNA and its significance in living organisms. The x-ray crystallography images of DNA created by Rosalind Franklin contributed to that discovery.
