Brain Games - Bristol
The first of our Brian games phase 2 workshops took place on 22 and
25-28 March 2002 in Explore At-Bristol where the pilot project was
designed and delivered in November 2000.
| Five schools from ‘Success @’
(Small EAZ in Withywood, Bristol) took up the Brain Games
challenge, including four primary schools and one secondary
school. The secondary school pupils (Year 8) worked in teams with
primary school pupils (Years 5 and 6). The secondary pupils took
on a peer-mentoring role within the teams. |

|
Seven games advisors were on hand to give advice to our Bristol
teams including those from local games companies Hothouse and Abundant
Software.

Four judges were set the task of
coming up with a team whose game and team working most impressed
them. Judges were: Prof Angela McFarlane, Graduate School of
Education, Bristol; Terry Williamson, Director of Success @,
Catherine Aldridge, Education and Programmes Manager At-Bristol
and John Rowland of Mouse Power Associates. |
