are the Brain Games? |

This project
has been funded by NESTA,
the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts. They
are lottery funded and government backed to promote creativity and
lateral thinking amongst school children.

| NESTA
sponsored Explore-at-Bristol to bring out the creative spark in 100
pupils from local schools. For a whole week, at Bristol staff have
been entertaining and enlightening the students from Speedwell
School and Ashton Gate Primary School. |
Welcome to the NESTA
Brain Games website.
One hundred pupils
from two Bristol schools were picked to take part in a week of activities
within Explore-at-Bristol. First they learned all about the brain, then
they created their own games based on what they'd learned… and all this
in school time.
Each team came up
with an idea for a game which was either based on the brain, or used different
parts of the brain. Some created board games, some did TV game shows and
others defined virtual reality games for computers and the TV. All the
pupils worked in teams of 6 led by a 'mentor'.
