Aardman Exhibition
14 February
to 5th September 2004
| Visitors to Explore
At-Bristol until 5th September will get a rare insight into some
of the nation’s favourite animated friends, with a brand new
exhibition, Aardman At-Bristol.
From storyboards to set design, this
new exhibition will give you a taste of the famous animation
studio’s history and Oscar winning filmmaking.
Famous for excellence in 3D clay/puppet
animation, Aardman is best known for its
Wallace & Gromit short films, Creature
Comforts TV series and full-length feature
film Chicken Run. |
 |
The studio has won
over 260 awards at international film
festivals over 30 years of production, and
has been Oscar-nominated 7 times,
winning 3 to date.

Come and find out how Aardman create many
of their endearing characters, from the early days of Morph to the more
technical times of Wallace, Gromit and the cheeky stars of Chicken Run.
| Six amazingly intricate
original models will take the spotlight, giving visitors a rare peek
at Gromit’s bedroom used in The Wrong Trousers, Chicken Run’s Mr
Tweedy being attacked by a brood of chickens and the incredible
pie-machine that took over 18 months to design. There’s even a model
showing a step-by-step guide to constructing Gromit!
Accompanying the models, the Studio will
be continually screening a specially created film showing highlights
of Aardman’s finest films, interviews with the creators and behind
the scenes footage.
