Sportastic!
20 December 2004 - 20 March 2005
|
Be a
sporting superstar for the day with Sportastic!, a new interactive
exhibition in Explore-At-Bristol.
Can you beat the goalie? Can you keep up with the reaction time
wall? Are you speedy enough or strong enough to race your way to 1st
place?
From skateboard skills tests and running tracks, to virtual
volleyball contests, a skeleton bobsleigh run and a mini sports
arena for tiny tots, there's a fun mix of sporting challenges and
interactive games for everyone to get stuck into.
If you've ever fancied your chances competing against the world's
finest and fittest athletes, why not come and see how you really
fare!
Explore the latest technologies in sporting gear that will be used
in this year's Olympics, and find out how nature plays a part in
sports kit design. Discover how your brain and body adapt during
sport and how wheelchairs are adapted specifically for different
types of sport. You can even learn why sports shoes smell so bad! |
 |
A programme of Meet
the Expert sessions will run alongside the Sportastic! exhibition,
giving you the chance to pick up top tips from real sporting
professionals and discover the latest cutting-edge research in sports
science from some of Britain's top scientists.
Linking into all the festivities for Bristol Year of Sport 2004,
Sportastic! is a stimulating celebration of all things sporty, and is
suitable for visitors of all ages, physical abilities and learning
styles.
Sportastic! is free with a ticket to Explore-At-Bristol.
