Welcome
Welcome to Feel the force, a resource pack on Forces
and motion for Key Stage 2 teachers.
Feel the force provides a selection of resources
to help you teach forces and motion and design and technology. Thought
provoking pictures introduce the concepts to the students, a visit
to Explore-At-Bristol allows everyone to feel the forces
and back in the classroom practical activities illustrate the concepts
that have been investigated.
Throughout the pack links between science and design and technology
are highlighted. To bring it all to life, real-world examples of
the science and design and technology are provided at every stage.
Developed by At-Bristol with the support of the Medlock
Trust, The Chartered Surveyors' Company and Ove Arup and the involvement
of teachers from Bristol City, South Gloucestershire, Bath and North
East Somerset and North Somerset councils.
Background
Scientific principles underlie many of the technological developments
we see in all aspects of the world around us, Feel the Force
seeks to exploit the interface between the science and design technology
curricula. It concentrates on practical applications illustrated
through the theme of Forces and Motion and uses the
exhibitions of At-Bristol as the starting point.
