Portable science sets
At-Bristol and the Science Learning Centre South West have developed a number of portable science sets for schools to hire or buy.
They are designed to encourage active discovery-based learning in children of all ages. Students can explore scientific phenomena in the classroom and develop important observational and critical thinking skills.
The sets give students the opportunity to explore scientific phenomena through a collection of stimulating and engaging science centre style portable interactive mini-exhibits.
They are designed to develop important observational and critical thinking skills and to inspire students to discover more for themselves.
The current sets are made up of a number of thematically linked mini-exhibits covering the following topics:
The portable interactive mini-exhibits are primarily intended to extend the reach of the hands-on science centre, taking exciting science to schools and colleges that would find it difficult to visit. 
They can however be used in many different ways or environments with a variety of audiences - all that is required is a table and access to a mains electricity supply.
Each set easily fits into the boot of a car.
