Opening Hours
Explore is open every day except 24, 25 and 26 December.

10am to 5pm - weekdays during term time (last entry at 4pm).
10am to 6pm - weekends, bank holidays and daily during local school holidays (last entry at 5pm).

Please allow 2-4 hours for your visit to Explore and 25 minutes for a Planetarium show.
Tickets are valid only on the day of purchase and can be used to re-enter Explore throughout the day.

BY TRAIN

First Great Western or Virgin Trains into Bristol Temple Meads station. From there to At-Bristol it is a 20 minute walk, a 5 minute taxi ride, 17 minute Ferry ride or a 10 minute bus ride (8 or 9 First service to College Green - from College Green walk down the side of Bristol Cathedral and At-Bristol will be in front of you).

BY BUS
Any to the city centre or direct to Anchor Road.

Simply buy your money-saving, all-in-one ticket from the driver of any First bus in Bristol Zones 1 and 2.

You don't have to worry about parking and it takes no more than 5 minutes to walk to At-Bristol from the Centre, where the bus drops you off. When you enter At-Bristol, staff will retain half your ticket. Use the other half for your return bus journey home.

* First's child definition is 5-15; the At-Bristol child definition is 3-15. Therefore 3 or 4 year olds must pay for their Explore ticket on arrival at the discounted rate of £5.50.

BY PARK & RIDE
Secure parking at Brislington (A4) or Long Ashton (A370) then a bus ride to the city centre.



BY FERRY
Bristol Ferry Boat Company runs timetabled ferries to and from At Bristol, seven days a week all year round. Boats are heated and covered in winter. Ferry landing stages are marked by blue and yellow diamonds on the map above.

You can catch the ferry:
- just a few minutes walk away from Bristol Temple Meads train station, at Castle Park (near Broadmead), Bristol Bridge and Welsh Back (near St. Nicholas Markets and King Street). Regular weekday service from April to October; a limited weekday service runs from November to March, but there is always a full service at weekends and school holidays.
- from Hotwells, picking up at Mardyke and Pump House landing stages (off Hotwells Road) and at The Cottage and ss Great Britain landing stages (off of Cumberland Road). Regular services.

BY ROAD
Via M5(S), exit Junction 18, follow A4 (Portway) to the City Centre. Via M4/M5(N), follow the M32 direct to the Centre. Follow the At-Bristol signs to A4/Anchor Road and use public car parks. 

Car Parking: The At-Bristol underground car park is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. The entrance is on Canons Way, off Anchor Road.

Coach Parking: Coaches may set down and pick up directly on site at Canons Way. Coach parking is available in the following sites:

  • Cumberland Road. Capacity 15-20, medium - long stay. No charge, on street parking.

  • Bristol City Football Club, Ashton Gate. Parking is subject to match days; for information call 0117 963 0614. Capacity 40, medium, long stay and overnight. £5 charge, off street parking. Toilets on site, coach cleaning facilities, food outlets nearby.


BY AIR
8 miles from Bristol International Airport.

Bristol International Flyer - Express Coach link route 330 between Bristol International Airport and Bristol City Centre operates every 30 minutes at peak times, with pick up/set down points in Anchor Road right outside At-Bristol.
